We are discussing the temperature range of 15 to 25 Deg C. If the temperature is below 10 Deg C, these recommendations will not be applicable. In those cases, desiccant type dehumidifier is preferred.
We have huge experience in humid countries like UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia etc.The temperature inside warehouse is lower than outside. Hence, humidity inside the pharmaceutical warehouse tends to increase.
Warehouse Dehumidifier for Pharmaceuticals
In order to decide the required capacity of a dehumidifier, you need to collect the following data.

- The size of the pharmaceutical warehouse including length, width and height.
- Present temperature levels maintained at the warehouse. In order to calculate the worst condition, it is better to consider the lowest temperature level.
- Present humidity levels in %RH recorded in the warehouse. Again it is better to consider the highest recorded data.
- If you have a fresh air intake, you should know the percentage of fresh air intake.
After collecting the above data you can use the dehumidification calculator. This gives the total capacity of required dehumidifiers. You have to keep in mind that it is better to keep dehumidifiers in different areas of the warehouse. This is for achieving better air circulation.
Suppose you want a total capacity of 100 liters per day as per above calculation. It is better to keep 4 nos. of dehumidifiers of 25 liters each. If you keep one dehumidifier of 100 liters, air circulation across the entire warehouse will be slow.
Other measures to keep low humidity in pharmaceutical warehouse
- It is better to install air curtains at the doors. This will reduce the transfer of moisture from the external air to the warehouse.
- Also, it is better to have an air locked corridor. This prevents external air to interact directly with internal air.
- The windows and doors should be air tight while closed.
